WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today joined several other organizations to file an amicus curiae brief in support of the emergency application to vacate the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals’ stays of agency authorizations necessary to complete the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

Marty Durbin, President of the U.S. Chamber’s Global Energy Institute, made the following statement:

“Businesses and families in the Mid and South Atlantic have been waiting long enough to obtain better access to reliable, affordable, and clean natural gas. The Mountain Valley Pipeline is a critical piece of infrastructure that opens up additional pathways to abundant domestic energy resources. Access to this natural gas will not only benefit the regional economy, but it will reduce carbon emissions by replacing coal, and it will support the continued expansion of renewables with the generation flexibility gas provides.  After years of study and delay, the pipeline is now 94% complete and should be allowed to finish construction without further interference.”
