This pragmatic decision aligns with the analysis of many of the world’s leading energy authorities that natural gas will remain essential to meeting growing global energy demand. The G7 process offers a unique opportunity for leading democracies to signal support for the role of responsible natural gas producers in ensuring global energy security while simultaneously advancing our shared climate goals. Our organizations remain committed partners in the effort to expeditiously reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, and we look forward to working with G7 leaders to implement their vision for a successful energy transition that will improve global quality of life and elevate environmental standards.”
