Natural gas use by Arizona businesses has increased by 11% since 2010. The oil and natural gas industry in Arizona contributes approximately $15.6 billion to the state economy. Natural gas supports nearly 40,000 jobs in the state.
Between 2009 and 2019, natural gas use in Arizona’s electric industry increased by approximately 33%. Over that same period:
CO2 emissions from the electric power industry declined by more than 18%,
SO2 emissions from the electric power industry declined by more than 66%,
NOx emissions from the electric power industry declined by more than 45%.
