We, the undersigned organizations, enthusiastically support the nomination of Mary Neumayr as Chairwoman of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).
Ms. Neumayr’s extensive public service experience with the House of Representatives, Department of Energy, and Department of Justice, makes her an excellent choice to lead the CEQ, which is responsible for implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and coordinating federal environmental activities and efforts.
Ms. Neumayr’s knowledge, expertise, and understanding of environmental regulations and policies make her well-qualified to lead the CEQ and its renewed efforts to protect the environment while encouraging economic development by streamlining the permitting process for infrastructure and other large scale projects.
We strongly support Ms. Neumayr’s nomination and urge the Committee to favorably report it.
