The State Department just released a new study that confirms there are no legitimate environmental reasons to delay approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Study after study has shown that Keystone XL would be a safe, technologically advanced pipeline project, and that it will create no significant environmental impact. In terms of energy security, the pipeline would be able to transport approximately 830,000 barrels of crude oil daily, non-stop, from Canada to market hubs in the Midwest and Texas. It would be a 1,179-mile, 36-inch diameter crude-oil pipeline beginning in Alberta, and ending in Nebraska. A recent survey showed 70 percent of American people want to see it built - a rare project that has broad bipartisan support. According to the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for 21st Century Energy, the Keystone pipeline construction is expected to produce 20,000 new American jobs and add an estimated $20 billion or more to the U.S. economy, plus generate millions in revenue for state and local governments that badly need them.
