Introducing the Global Energy Institute – Beveridge & Diamond Energy Tracker

Let’s face it—the constant flurry of energy news coming out of Washington is dizzying. Miss even just a day or two of news, and even the most committed of energy observes can quickly feel behind the times.

But help is on the way. This week, we partnered with the Beveridge & Diamond law firm to launch the GEI/B&D Energy Tracker—a handy new resource for not only keeping up with the latest updates from the Trump Administration, but for understanding the big picture as it relates to its ambitious energy reform agenda.

The Tracker is intended to serve as a user-friendly clearinghouse for monitoring key regulatory, judicial, and legislative developments through a filterable and sortable database of energy-related federal actions tracked by date, agency, topic, and specific issue area.

Whether you’re curious about the status of a specific Environmental Protection Agency lawsuit or want to browse Department of Interior actions on land management and leasing, the Tracker provides comprehensive, objective, “just-the-facts” answers to your energy policy and litigation questions.

Additionally, the Tracker will continuously monitor and quantify overall progress on energy-related regulatory and policy reforms. For example, at launch time, energy-related actions taken by President Trump thus far include 8 executive orders, 4 presidential memoranda, and 3 public laws.

Further, the Tracker includes 16 energy-related regulatory/policy reforms initiated or under review, 5 reforms formally proposed, and 12 reform actions that have been finalized or completed. (These figures do not include project-specific actions such as leases or permit approvals.)

In addition, we’re also tracking ongoing litigation pertaining to at least 11 actions. Among these, seven regulatory-related court cases are currently being held in abeyance, and in 3 instances court action has overturned Executive Branch postponement of regulatory implementation.

So please, give it a spin and be sure to sign up to receive periodic updates straight to your inbox.
